Learning traditional Thai massage "Nuad Bo Rarn"
In my latest training, I discovered Thai floor massage also called "Lazy Yoga"
Today I am happy to share with you my Thai floor massage training: an enriching practice that I had the privilege of learning recently with the Azenday training organization in Lyon.
An innovative approach to massage: Thai floor massage, a more accessible and adaptable method
By undertaking this training, my objective was to develop new skills in floor massage, a practice remarkable for its flexibility in adapting to any environment, without requiring the use of a specific table.
I felt a real enthusiasm working on the ground in collaboration with the model. Thai massage develops a specific gesture around the recipient, with many postures of the masseur reminiscent of those of martial arts. The seiza position of Aikido seemed familiar to me, as did the posture of the knight servant, a sort of kneeling lunge on the ground. Stability is constantly sought in the postures of the masseur, who moves discreetly around the person being massaged in a logic of movement control and optimization.
The movements are often deep, making effective use of ground support. We frequently use body weight to reach deep into the musculature.
Thai floor massage offers a fascinating alternative, allowing the practitioner to take full advantage of gravity in their movements. This clever approach gives the massage an exceptional versatility, opening up new perspectives that I look forward to sharing in my future massage sessions.
Body harmony: Thai massage, a peaceful journey into Sloth Yoga
Thai massage offers a plethora of benefits, often colloquially referred to as "lazy people's yoga". Unlike other forms of massage in the world, Thai massage is distinguished by its abundant stretching and twisting, involving the entire muscle chain from the tips of the toes to the head, under the skillful guidance of the masseur. This approach makes it a universal practice, suitable for both athletes seeking performance and sedentary people seeking flexibility.
This interactive experience allows the recipient to reconnect with their own body awareness, explore their personal limits and actively contribute to their physical and mental well-being. It is a deeply rewarding experience, both for the practitioner and the person receiving the massage.
